LAUNCH & SCALE MOBILE APP

The creation of the Light Programme began with extensive user research, which included interviewing a diverse range of mindfulness practitioners across modalities like tapping, sound healing, visualization, and gratitude. This research identified the core problem causing a 95% dropout rate in the industry: the lack of personalized practice. The solution involved developing a proprietary algorithm capable of matching users to a specific mindfulness practice in under 30 seconds, ensuring a highly tailored experience for users with distinct needs (e.g., ADHD-prone, depression-prone).
The design philosophy was driven by simplicity and speed, resulting in the programme being described as one of the simplest apps ever launched on the Google Play store. I led the full design and engineering effort remotely, focusing on a clean, intuitive interface that eliminated user friction. This user-centric design was critical to the programme's high engagement and retention rates.
Katherine led the full build and launch of the entire Light Programme, including the mobile app. A key aspect of the development process was the creation of "Mindfulness Circuits™," an innovative technique born from in-person event testing and iterative engineering. This invention, along with the development of the personalized matching algorithm, established the platform as a unique solution in the wellness space.
The launch and growth strategy resulted in exceptional commercial performance, including 100% retention of international B2B clients, such as Google, Accenture, and Pizza Hut. The Light App consistently demonstrated profound user impact, achieving an average of over 60% positive shift in user emotion post-use. Furthermore, the company secured vital Innovate UK grant funding and successfully obtained international trademarks for the core technology.
